THE RESONANCE LOUNGER
The Resonance Lounger may be utilized in both sound and music therapy applications; within the fields of medicine, healing arts, psychotherapy and personal development. Designed with precision crafted components the lounger is fully adjustable, light weight, and collapsible and equipped with an innovative system of state-of-the-art transducers.
The sleek modern design of the Resonance Lounger with warm hardwood accents and flax seed pillows conforms to support the contours of each persons shape; accommodating an omni-positional LCD screen for a variety of visual experiences including frequency response programs that provide beautiful, dynamic, visual patterns that constantly change and evolve as they respond to the music.
The lounger fully reclines into the zero gravity position, legs and feet above the heart. This position greatly reduces pressure on the spine and increases lung capacity and circulation; allowing the whole body to relax and rejuvenate in the uplifting currents of vibration.
What is tactile sound?
Tactile sound is the sensation of sound transmitted directly to the human body by contact, rather than by sound waves through the ears. The technology of transducers make it possible to transfer powerful low frequencies that may be viscerally felt in deep lying muscles, organs, nerves and bone. In water, sound travels five times faster than in air. Since the human body is made up primarily of water, it is an excellent conductor of sound. Tactile sound may be created with natural or synthesized sounds, as well as with acoustics instruments.
“Rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.”
— Plato

Research on the Benefits of Sound
An individual’s response to various techniques utilized through sound can create changes that slow down the heartbeat and respiration, alter brainwave patterns, activate neurotransmitters and hormones and deeply impact our emotional, mental and physical states. Specifically engineered recordings often blend theta and delta frequencies to relax the body and induce a meditative state quickly. Sound therapy is based largely on the sciences of:
- Psychoacoustics — the study of physiological and neurological responses to sound, frequency and resonance.
- Music Therapy — therapeutic applications based on the effects of music on the emotions and psychology.
“You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. And there’s not organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound and music and vibration.”
— Mitchell Gaynor M.D.
In the last century, sound therapy has been deeply influenced by the research of French physician Dr. Alfred Tomatis. One of his major discoveries was that the ear's first function in utero is to govern the growth of the rest of the physical organism and in addition to the ear’s functions of communication and balance, the ear's primary purpose is to charge the nervous system and neocortex of the brain with electrical impulses created by sound (Leeds, The Power of Sound). Tomatis concluded that sound is a nutrient and we hear not only with our ears but also with the entire body through skin and bone conduction. The following is an abbreviated list of the diverse benefits of sound and music therapy:
- Induces deep relaxation and meditation
- Decreases muscular tension and joint pain
- Assists biological growth and brain development
- Increases creativity, energy and mental focus
- Enhances and deepens sleep
- Catalyzes psycho-spiritual insight, feelings of bliss and a sensation of weightlessness.
