Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education program prepares you to teach young children in high-quality child care programs. It emphasizes concepts of growth and development, supporting children's dispositions in individualized and group learning experiences, loose parts, cultural sensitivity, self-awareness, team collaboration, constructive guidance, and respectful family partnerships.
This program will prepare you to provide creative, open-ended activities and environments
to optimize children's learning potential in the context of secure and trusting relationships.
The classes are structured based on adult learning theory and research: we teach in
the way we want young children to be taught. This means we value your experience and
knowledge, encourage critical thinking, and aim to build community within your cohort
so that every student feels a sense of belonging.
